the creative benefits of kundalini yoga

Recently I spent some much needed time away in the North, West countryside of Japan with my partner.

It was a time to reflect – time to get away from the mundanity and stresses of life – time to meditate on my truest intentions and visions for the future – and incidentally time to begin a daily Kundalini Yoga practice!

I’ve been a yogi or yogic practitioner for several years now on and off but I discovered Kundalini yoga and its benefits through an astrologer of all people – Tom “Kaypacha” Lescher of the new paradigm astrology cooperative.
It was really delving in to my love and side passion for astrology during my time out that as a synchronistic accident I learned that Kaypacha highly recommends kundalini yoga to any of his cooperative or people receiving natal chart readings from him during retreats or webinars.

In his words he writes “I cannot stress enough how much Kundalini Yoga has changed my life (for the better)! I often tell people in my workshops that I use Astrology as bait just to get them to come and experience Kundalini Yoga.”

I began with the basics and found many helpful beginner YouTube videos to kick start my daily practice, such as this short, sweet and handy one here:

Together my partner and I took it nice and easy and built up our daily duration and breathing exercises such as Breath Of Fire and I strongly recommend you do the same if you are new to kundalini yoga as it can cause dizziness and even fast track a Kundalini-Awakening which you are best to be well informed on prior to it happening so you stand the best chance of having a successful and beneficial time from it – rather than a scary or intimidating one.

What is the Kundalini energy?

It’s really important to realize the original intention of yoga was to prepare the body to meditate!
Western practices have mostly lost this fundamental approach and in many ways turned it more into an exercise and/or athletic fashion statement.
To benefit most and reach the highest levels of transformation make sure to meditate after any kundalini kriya.

“Kundalini Yoga is a science and it can be explained and it can be experienced, like in a lab where you find your total potential awakened to experience your own excellence. Kundalini Yoga is simply the uncoiling of yourself to find your potential and your vitality and to reach your virtues. There is nothing outside, everything is you. You are the storehouse of your totality.” – Yogi Bhajan

In short the Kundalini is seen as a snaking coil of energy that passes through our seven chakras, from the root or Muladhara chakra up to the crown or Sahasrara chakra at the very top of the head.

Kundalini yoga is the practice of awakening this energy through conscious awareness, movements and breathing techniques in order to unleash ones truest potential – as seen in basic form in the above video.

In my experience of practicing daily kundalini yoga as with daily meditation, I felt a lot more wholesome generally. It quickly became a necessity for me to feel my best on a daily basis in Japan and before long I was waking in the morning to a cool shower followed by a roughly 75 plus minute practice always ending with a meditation phase.

There’s a fair bit to learn with Kundalini Yoga, such as chants, mudras etc so make sure to do your basic research or head to the New Paradigm Astrology site for further insights in the Kyoga section.

A highly regarded book is the ‘Kundalini yoga for the west’ book by Sivananda Radha Saraswati

Any true Kyoga session begins by rubbing your two palms together, placing them in prayer pose and chanting with 3 “Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo” which means ~ I bow to the Creative Wisdom, I bow to the Divine Teacher within. It’s used for “tuning in” to divine flow and self-knowledge.

So there we have it – if you would have asked me would I be practicing Kundalini Yoga daily very soon, 6 months ago I would have most likely replied with, “What’s that?

However I can wholeheartedly recommend Kundalini Yoga as a highly beneficial and profoundly attitude and mindset altering practice, capable of increasing motivation, endurance and especially that all important creative energy we sometimes lack in our day to day life!

Is this just the end of the beginning?…

It seems everywhere we look there is bad news… Donald Trump president elect of the United States, BREXIT – (Britain’s exit from the EU) and the increasing divide between the rich and poor, not to mention war and famine.

Yet with the same token there appears to be a growing consensus amongst the majority of people whom feel utterly fed up by the lies and deceit of the ruling-elite and generally speaking feel indifferent – they want change and they want it now.

As a therapist I believe that our human nature does not like change.
I also happen to believe (on a large scale) that we only change when either the time has come (which it now has) or we are utterly forced to out of a necessity – which indeed we are being!

According to some of the indigenous tribes and cultures around the world – such as the ancient Mayans and the Hopi peoples, in the year 2012 – December 21st & 22nd specifically – we entered a new cycle of time ending an old cycle which had lasted many thousands of years, whereby we will (as a race) begin to leave the duality-‘piscean’ mindset behind – that of you vs me and adopt a more ‘Christ-Consciousness’ mindset of oneness, peace, understanding and equality for all. This has been regarded as the Second coming of Christ and chances are if you have been feeling indifferent since this amazing year also, then you too are awakening to the truths that await the masses. So stay tuned.

But what do I mean by Is this just the end of the beginning?

It is clear we have been on a steady decline for the past 40 plus years (that is, being highly modest) and without the general population even really battering an eyelid to the implications of this – it is “Just how things are
However, can we go much further down this path? Where will it lead us? How will we manage?

Things are changing and changing rapidly and with the rise of the internet comes hand in hand the rise of collective-consciousness. The knowing and understanding that we ALL are not that different after all.
At the end of the day we all just want to live in peace in a clean and sustainable environment. (At least most of us do!) So then if nothing else, this should now blatantly demonstrate to us that something in the system, in the way we conduct our lives at large is inherently wrong.

Like never before there is possibly the largest number of healers and spiritual teachers gifting the earth ever and authors like Eckhart Tolle explain in depth in his book “A New Earth” how we are entering a new age of living for all.

One thing I always say to people is to turn-off mainstream news and seek alternative means which are truly informed and unbiased. This will both educate and expand ones consciousness and will assist in a growing awakening of truth.

help create it

The end of the beginning simply means the start of something new. But to experience this we must individually and collectively start to reclaim our power as sovereign and responsible adults capable of critical thinking, leave the fear propaganda behind and start connecting with each other on a deeper & truer level.

The end of the beginning means enlightenment for all and the ascension of our shared and perceived reality – something which is already undoubtedly underway.

Self care during ascension symptoms

We are alive and paying witness to the most remarkable times in human history, and as I’ve commented many times before, this can cause great anxiety to the uninitiated amongst us.

Many are oblivious that on December 21st 2012 our planet went in to direct alignment with the other planets in our solar system and marked the end of a 26,000+ year cycle of time – which the Ancient Mayans long predicted.

I have written a whole article on these Mayan prophecies which can be viewed here

According to many teachers, including founder of the heartmath institute Howard Martin – There is a consciousness shift taking place which is believed to be a dimensional shift in consciousness.

“We are moving from a baseline of third dimensional consciousness into the fourth and up into the higher ranges of the fourth and we’re doing this in a very short amount of time. A rough estimate for me would be, as a window of time, is about a 100 years and we’re right in the middle of it.”
– Howard Martin, Founder of the Heartmath Institute

The Hopi people’s say we are going from the 4th to the 5th world and that we are very close to the time of purification.
Change is a natural part of evolution and not something to be feared, but a normal process.
“It is time” they say. This can be read about in Frank Waters – ‘Book of the Hopi’

During these times since 2012 many are reporting a wide variety of physical and metaphysical symptoms, such as;
– Ringing in the ears
– Random aches and pains
– Muscular convulsions
– Migraines and headaches
– feelings of dizziness and drowsiness

If you have been experiencing any of these symptoms (or indeed other unexplainable aches or pains) then it is important to be be taking extra self-care and healing at this time.

I for one have had (intermittent) ringing in my ears alternating between left and right, which comes and goes as it pleases!
I know for me that this is not tinnitus or similar as I do not suffer with this problem usually and the ringing tends to overtake my hearing for short bursts of up to 60 seconds maximum, and then my normal hearing will resume.

It’s important to recognize that a GP /Doctor will most likely NOT be able to diagnose these random and intermittent symptoms many of us are experiencing as these are the direct affects of Ascension.

“Everything on the earth has a purpose, every disease an herb to cure it, and every person a mission. This is the Indian theory of existence.”
― Mourning Dove

Every ache, pain or issue with the anatomy has a metaphysical meaning behind it and during these times we should be taking all the measures we know well, for self-care and healing.
See more here: http://www.collective-evolution.com/2016/08/01/the-metaphysical-meanings-of-specific-physical-pains/

I know I have experienced a multitude of different symptoms over the past few years which doctors just cannot explain and I have also found that by taking the best measures I have learnt from holistic and alternative healing methods – many of these symptoms have passed with ease.

This includes methods such as Reiki, Meditation (at least once a day), Hypnosis / Self Hypnosis, Self-love /Self-Inquiry and contemplation as well as adopting a Yoga practice.
All of these things and more can aid you through these changing times and remind you of why you are here right now and your inter-connectivity.

As we move from the 3rd dimension through the 4th and in to the 5th it is paramount that we not lose sight of our purpose and importance during this time on Earth.
We must learn to be easy on ourselves and adopt an approach of self love.
We all made pre-agreements to go through these shifts during this time and those of us with this knowledge must now be leading the way for others to integrate these ascension symptoms and not panic or lose faith.

‘To swing on the spiral of our divinity & still be a human…’ – Maynard James Keenan

This is a truly amazing time to be human – however, only if we can treat it with the reverence and love it deserves.

Go easy on yourself, practice self-care and love, take time out to enjoy the things you love doing and be as creative as possible with them.

If we can not help ourselves to heal and remain balanced through these times what good are we to others?…

I am made of energy, I will always exist.
Whatever happens in this life is a vehicle to move me along, not a beginning or an end.
No matter what the ego tells me.
No matter what the body feels.
Those are merely experiences that I need to feel to achieve what I came here to do, be and experience.
On some level, I already know everything that needs to be known.
I don’t remember it all right now because it would prevent me from the experience of the here and now.
When I seek my truth it will come back to me.
There is nothing to fear.
There is infinite love here.
All that is glows divinely from within me.

Love

“Love is a state of Being. Your love is not outside; it is deep within you. You can never lose it, and it cannot leave you.”
― Eckhart Tolle

Recently I found myself in Glastonbury Town, England on a short camping trip with a friend who was attending an aurasoma colour course.

Whilst my friend was on the course during the day times, I had several hours to myself to wander and explore the magical town of Glastonbury and take in the sights.

Glastonbury, England is renowned for its majesty and mysticism dating back in history to King Arthur and the round table and so the town is not short of interesting shops full of crytals, incense and occult and metaphysical books alike.

On the first day of my wandering around I came across one of Byron Katie’s books, “Question your thinking, change the world” at an extra affordable price, and whilst I had many hours to spare I thought I would purchase the book and proceed to the nearby library to have a read.

I have been a fan of Byron Katie’s ‘The Work’ for some time now and I really feel her line of self-inquiry is a blessing to us all.

The book, only a relatively short read is split in to several chapters on; Love, Sex, and Relationships, Health, Sickness, and Death and Work and Money among other things.

What was apt about me wanting to read through this book, was that I’ve been having to overcome some internal concerns myself about stepping out and being of service to others in the world with my ‘Work’ and genuine purpose as well as my friend having a string of failed and dysfunctional relationships, whereby they had attracted the same abusive and dysfunctional character time and time again and were beginning to give up on ‘Love.’

Here is the thing though, What we view as ‘Love’ in today’s society isn’t actually love at all by its truest definition and eternal meaning… it is something else, call it; Possession, domination, power or ego tripping, a need for validation or simply two personalities in mutual agreement of what Love ‘should’ be like.
And on the long journey to Glastonbury with my friend I had plenty of time to express this to them and discuss the issues which we were both facing.

osho

Love is a state of being. Love is what we are and where we come from through creation, and in that sense we ARE already… whole, loving, complete and cared for. We are born in to this world with everything we require to thrive; 4 limbs, 2 ears, a mouth, a nose, eyes and a brain to receive and learn new, vital information.

It is really only through the acts of social-conditioning and separation that we begin to feel incomplete and unworthy and start to seek Love and other validation outside of ourselves.
If you can recall being a child, or even better if you have children now then take a moment to study them as children are our greatest teachers. A child is open to giving and receiving love, they are open to the world and full of potential and possibility, unprejudiced and pure-loving.

“The world’s a playground. You know that when you are a kid, but somewhere along the way everyone forgets it.” – Allison, Yes Man movie.

I’d like to paraphrase some of the lines from Katie’s book here to really express where I believe many of us are and have been going wrong – here we go!

“Seeking love is how you lose the awareness of love. But you can only lose the awareness of it, not the state.
That is not an option, because love is what we all are. That’s immovable. When you investigate your stressful thinking and your mind becomes clear, love pours into your life, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

When I don’t look for approval outside me, I remain as approval. If I seek your approval, it’s not comfortable inside me. And through inquiry, I’ve come to see that I want you to approve of what you approve of, because I love you. What you approve of is what I want. That’s love – it wouldn’t change anything. It already has everything it wants. It already IS everything it wants, just the way it wants it.

All the advice you ever gave your partner is for you to hear.

Your partner is your mirror. Except for the way you perceive him, he doesn’t even exist for you. He is who you see he is, and ultimately it’s just you again, thinking.
It’s just you over and over and over and over, and in this way you remain blind to yourself and feel justified and lost. To think that your partner is anything but a mirror of you is painful.
You don’t see your partner; you just see what you believe about him. So when you see him as flawed in any way, you can be sure that that’s where your own flaw is.
The flaws have to be yours, because you’re the one projecting them.

Love says, “I love you no matter what.”
Love says, “You’re fine the way you are.”
And that is the only thing that can heal; that is the only way you can join.
If you think he’s supposed to be different from what he is, you don’t love him. In that moment you love who he’s going to be when you’re through manipulating him. He is a throwaway until he matches your image of him.

You can’t disappoint another human being. And another human being can’t disappoint you.
You believe the story of how your partner isn’t giving you what you want, and you disappoint yourself.
If you want something from your partner and he says no, that’s reality.
It leaves YOU.
And you can always give it to yourself.
You’re just suffering from the belief that there’s something missing from your life.
In reality, you always have what you need.

People think that relationships will make them happy, but you can’t get happiness from the other person or from anywhere outside you.
A relationship is two belief systems that come together to validate that there’s something outside you that can bring you happiness.
And when you think that that’s true, growing beyond your common belief system means losing the other person, because that’s what you had together. So if you move forward, you leave this old belief system behind in what you call the other person, and then you feel it as separation and pain.

You’re living with God disguised as your husband/wife, and he/she will show you all your unclear places; she will give you everything you need in order to get free.
That’s love.
When you see your partner as God, your work becomes very simple.

We are love, and there’s nothing we can do about that.
Love is our nature. It’s what we are without our stories.

For the personality, love is nothing more than agreement. If I agree with you, you love me. And the minute I don’t agree with you, the minute I question one of your sacred beliefs, I become your enemy; you divorce me in your mind.
Then you start looking for all the reasons why you’re right, and you stay focused outside yourself.
When you’re focused outside and believe in the moment, then you are your own victim, and the situation appears to be hopeless.

The worst loss you’ve ever experienced is the greatest gift you can have.”

dalai

So as is clear from Byron, Love stems from our self to our self and really the love we think we receive also comes from our self. A very profound yet liberating truth.

In order to love another sufficiently we must first love our self, and how many times have we heard that… But the eternal truth is that, true, organic and healthy love is a state where we are so over-brimming and full of love and pure intention, that we give it freely everywhere we go with no thought of reward, recognition or even return – in short, we have become Love. Or maybe more correctly, we have remembered what we are – eternal.

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

The Deeper Secret…

I’m sure by now most of you have either heard of, or read the phenomena that is
The Secret.

If you haven’t then I recommend you get hold of a copy of the book by Rhonda Byrne or alternatively watch the video of The Secret free online to get a good grasping of the basics to the Law of Attraction.

So many of us seem to be looking for happiness in the most unlikely places, such as; other people, material possessions and occupations, but have we ever stopped to ask ourself this crucial question:
What does the world want from me?…

Quite simply this is the central theme around the beautifully written ‘The Deeper Secret’ by Annemarie Postma, which I highly recommend for getting to grips with true purpose and meaning in life.

The Law of Attraction works on the basis that what we focus on and desire we attract and ‘like attracts like’ as well as ‘energy flows where attention goes.’
However, when not fully understood or misused this concept can cause a lot of confusion and even suffering and I will be revealing some of the fundamental flaws of The Secret here now.

butterfly

I found my copy of The Deeper Secret at a spiritual convention I attended a few years ago.
The timing of this find for me was the biggest indicator as to how the Law of Attraction should really be used and applied in our lives.

By this point I had already read and received my copy of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne in the most unusual of manners, fully demonstrating in the most ironic way the powers of the Law of Attraction – and that once Intent and Desire for something is fully and unapologetically placed out to the universe, then the universe can and will make it happen.

The timing of my discovery of The Deeper Secret held great clues as to its purpose and the purpose of the Law of Attraction in its finality.

I was at a stage in my life where I was A) Asking many questions of myself and
B) Searching for my purpose.

The fundemental problem with the law of attraction if not understood in a fully metaphysical and spiritual sense, is that people of a greed based and egocentric manner may try to abuse and use it for the wrong purposes.
The Law of attraction is all about reaping what you sow and in that sense it should be utilized as a spiritual tool to both give and receive our hearts truest desires.
Not just for the next fancy car we’d like!
(although that would be lovely, wouldn’t it?)

jim

Since discovering the Law of Attraction and all it entails I have come to some personal conclusions about this majestic tool which we all use on a daily basis, whether we are conscious of it or not.

The Law of Attraction is ALL about Energetic exchange, when we give without thought of reward we will always receive what we need, as and when, and often with interest!

However when we give with the thought of reward, how many times are we truly disappointed? This is the energetic exchange of the Law of Attraction – when we are fully and truly aligned to inner purpose and service in giving then the real magic starts to happen and not until then.

I have also come to feel that the fundamentals of the Law of Attraction are in accordance with a higher, spiritual realm that is working behind the scenes of our daily lives with our best interests at the forefront. You may call this higher realm, Source, God, or even Spirit guides, however this is where I feel the magic behind the Law of Attraction truly sits and it is up to each of us to continually activate and circulate it through offering up our talents, abilities and gifts to the world.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – Pablo Picasso

Sure we can visualize that brand new Lamborghini car, visualize, visualize, visualize, work hard and receive it, But what then? That brand new Lamborghini will only be new for a short while, and then sooner or later the next model will be released and thus it will inevitably never be enough…unless we truly draw that line.

Service to others and true inner alignment with our hearts and souls desires however, has the capacity to attract much more joy and happiness deep within, and then some.

“As far as I can tell, it’s just about letting the universe know what you want and then working toward it while letting go of how it comes to pass.” ― Jim Carrey

As you can tell throughout this piece I have quoted actor Jim Carrey. This is because Jim is the epitome of the Law of Attraction in its fully functioning, heart based action.
He has given so much joy, love and laughter to people through his many deeds, even dubbing his own form of service the ‘Church FFC’ – Freedom From Concern, that he has been empowered and enabled to continue to do this to the day in such vast amounts.

The universe supports the universe.

The Deeper Secret touches on the basics of the 12 Universal laws and these laws are essential to a true understanding of this majestic and metaphysical energetic exchange
– The Law of Attraction.

“You are ready and able to do beautiful things in this world, and as you walk through those doors today, you will only have two choices: love or fear.
Choose love, and don’t ever let fear turn you against your playful heart.”

Everything is Energy, and Energy is you and me

When I turned 23 I underwent a serious inner transformation, known in transpersonal psychology as a Peak Experience or Spiritual Emergency.

Suddenly at this point, my understanding of the microcosm and the macrocosm – the outer world and the inner world as we percieve it, united and became one.
In the words of Albert Einstein “The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it Intuition or what you will, the solution comes to you and you don’t know how or why.”

Through my experience I was thrown in to a great expanse of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and love. I was shown first hand in an experiential manner, that this meat puppet (our body) which we drive around each day, is but the beginning of a much greater and more inclusive wisdom for all beings, should we choose to receive it and be open to it.

Since around this time it has been my desire to share this understanding and wisdom with others in order to help alleviate much of our unnecessary daily struggles.
After all, Who would you be without your story?

contrary

Since the fall of Atlantis for eons we have been socially conditioned and extensively taught that we are but a few things in society; Our names, our appearances and body type, our skin colour and our occupation.

We have been clubbed down, beaten over the heads and placed in a state of amnesia to our true divinity, our capacities and maybe most important, our collective potentiality.

Your name may be *Insert Here* ~ But this is not who you are….
You may have been born in *Insert Here* ~ But this is not where you are from….
Your occupation is *Insert Here* ~ But this is not what you are….

wayne

“Fortunately, some are born with spiritual immune systems that sooner or later give rejection to the illusory worldview grafted upon them from birth through social conditioning.
They begin sensing that something is amiss, and start looking for answers.
Inner knowledge and anomalous outer experiences show them a side of reality others are oblivious to, and so begins their journey of awakening. Each step of the journey is made by following the heart instead of following the crowd and by choosing knowledge over the veils of ignorance.” ― Henri Bergson

There are many new energies entering on to the earth at this time and it is really up to each one of us to individually step in to and reclaim our own true power and divinity.
The powers that be and the elite structures will do everything possible in order to stop us reclaiming this power and we can see this across the mainstream news on a daily basis.
There are really only two basic motivating forces; Love and Fear. When we are in connection with inner alignment, divinity and power then we are free to be and express ourselves authentically and originally, free of fear.
When we are fearful we contract, we become more dense, rigid and predictable and unable to express ourselves due to the blockages – thus making us much more susceptible to control mechanisms.

It is really our choice and it always has been – we’ve just forgotten for a while and now is the time to wake up and take our power back.

literally

Here are a few things you can begin to do to reclaim your inner power and wisdom, expanding your inner alignment and potential:
1) Get out more in nature (and ground yourself there)
2) Meditate – A fantastic tool for heightened states of awareness
3) Contemplation / Affirmations “Everyday in every way I am getting better and better”
4) Yoga / Yogic Practice

There can be no real psycho-spiritual revolution or shift until it happens in each one of us and in that respect this leaves us with a very empowering thought – That everything in our lives is our own responsibiltiy and a result of us and no one else.

Acknowledging this and reclaiming full responsibility gives us chance to change our lives positively and work towards unlimited collective-consciousness, which now awaits us all!

How to De-stress

present

“Whenever you become anxious or stressed, outer purpose has taken over, and you lost sight of your inner purpose. You have forgotten that your state of consciousness is primary, all else secondary.”
– Eckhart Tolle

Stress and anxiety affect us all in many different ways and can be defined as: The bodies natural reaction to fear and change.

Some of us suffering with stress can easily identify which kind of stress whilst others suffer from a continual sense of anxiety.

Feelings of stress stem from frustration, anger or anxiousness whereas anxiety is the feeling of apprehension or fear and will usually affect our whole being, emotions, behavior and / or physical health.

Our current ‘socio-economic’ environment contributes to much of our stress symptoms and many of us carry stress around in our muscles on a daily basis.

There are several types of stress;

Hypostress
Eustress
Acute stress
Episodic acute stress
Chronic stress
Traumatic stress

During periods of stress, anxiety or panic we Think that we feel threatened – In reality it is our subconscious minds fight and flight mechanism taking over as a barrier and a form of protection.

It is during these situations when we decide whether to run or fight and these same brain-neurotransmitters either excite or calm us.

The Roper Starch Survey carried out in 1999 found:

~ Women who work full-time and have children under 13 report the greatest stress worldwide

~ Globally 23% of women executives and professionals and 19% of their male peers say they feel ‘super-stressed’

~ Nearly one in four mothers who work full-time and have children under 13 feel stress almost everyday

think

How we deal with our stress and anxieties is largely dependent on how we use or minds… our minds can be our greatest servant or our worst master

patient-centred-care-3-638

Here are 5 effective ways to De-stress:

#1 ~ Mindfulness & Meditation

“Mindfulness. Your mind is full. Just what is it full of?” – Byron Katie

Studies led by Harvard-affiliated researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) demonstrated that just 8 weeks of mindfulness meditation — focusing on ‘non-judgmental awareness of sensations, feelings, and state of mind’ can increase gray-matter density in the hippocampus, known to be important for learning and memory, and in structures associated with self-awareness, compassion, and introspection.

Participants also claimed reductions in stress with decreased grey-matter density in the amygdala, which is known to play an important role in anxiety and stress.

Unsure of meditation? Checkout my 6 basic steps to meditation here:
www.intraperspective.com/meditation

#2 ~ Breathe

This may seem an obvious one, However the way which we breathe in modern society is infinitely shallower in comparison to how we were supposedly breathing thousands of years ago.
Stress and anxiety levels can be directly attributed to the way in which we breathe, which places us directly in the present moment, out of stress and anxieties way.

Like meditation (which also utilizes the breath in similar fashion) just 5 – 10 minutes per day of conscious breathing, known as “Ujjayi” breathing in yoga can certainly help keep stress and anxiety levels at bay.

Unsure? Google “Ujjayi and/or Yoga breathing”

#3 ~ Go Walking

Walking isn’t just good for exercising your body, it’s good for exercising your brain, too.

Taken from an article on the Huffington Post;

Neuroscientist Gabriel Axel discusses how walking energizes the brain and can stimulate creativity.

“When we’re walking, essentially, the default mode network in the brain — which is involved in self-referencing and episodic memory — is given a rest,” says Axel, “and walking starts to then attune us into the surroundings in a more relaxed way.”

The default mode network is deactivated when we’re walking and tuning into our environment. But when we finish walking and go back to a more inward-focused state of mind, the default mode network activates again.

“All of a sudden our frames of referencing to ourselves and our lives are different,” says Axel.
This change in perspective can give rise to creative thought.

Walking gives you an important mental break from your normal distractions and preoccupations, which can also stimulate creativity, says psychologist Susan Krauss Whitbourne.

#4 ~ Yoga

“When the Breath wanders, the mind is unsteady, but when the Breath is still, so is the mind still.”
– Hatha Yoga Pradipika

Yoga of any style, is simply food for the mind, body and soul! Yoga can most definitely be seen as a unisex practice.

Yoga, being similar in its approach as meditation and mindfulness – in the respect of watching the breath and each of our movements, consciously, invites us to feel what is going on inside, without judgement or attachment.

Pranayama is the art of yoga breathing and one of the five aspects of yoga is breath control.
According to pranayama yoga, there are three kinds of breathing: High, Low and Middle, and there are four phases to proper breathing.
As already mentioned above, controlled breathing is a great first step to mastering stress. Even a few minutes a day, done for two weeks, can have amazing effects.

There are several styles of Yoga to choose from, such as; Anusara, Vinyasa, Kundalini and Pranayama. A short google and visit to YouTube should demonstrate the various types and help you in picking the style best suited for you.

#5 ~ Practice Gratitude, Compassion & Affirmations

“Gratitude is a powerful process for lifting your frequency and bringing more of what you want into your life. Be grateful for what you already have, which will shift you on to a higher frequency, and voila! You will attract much better things.” – Rhonda Byrne, ‘The Secret’

It is said that having a sense of spirituality in our lives – the outward expression of something bigger than ourselves, leads to a healthier more refined life.

Practicing gratitude and compassion, as well as affirming positive outcomes and beliefs will without doubt attract more of what we do want by setting us up in a new, attractive frequency.

“You cannot receive vibrationally something that you are not a vibrational match to.
And so, bless those who are finding abundance.
And in your blessing of them and their abundance, you will become abundant too.
But in your cursing of their abundance, you hold yourself apart from it.
It is a law – it is a powerful law.”

– Abraham Hicks

Emile Coué, a french psychologist and pharmacist who lived from the mid 18th century to the early 19th century was renowned for his mantra-like conscious autosuggestion,
“Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better” Today we would call this an Affirmation.

Coué noticed that in certain cases he could improve the efficacy of a given medicine by praising its effectiveness to the patient and realized that those patients to whom he praised the medicine had a noticeable improvement when compared to patients to whom he said nothing. This is a clear example of today’s modern scientific concept of the placebo effect and shows that what we tell and speak to ourselves, we really do believe…

peace

These 5 steps aside, one other tool which is becoming increasingly popular in helping to fight stress and anxiety is Hypnosis, and as a qualified hypnotherapist myself I feel obliged to detail this invaluable tool briefly here as well.

Hypnosis can help us directly by altering our state of awareness in a way that relaxes the conscious part of the mind – while simultaneously stimulating and focusing the subconscious part.
This heightened state of awareness – reached using skilled, spoken relaxation techniques allows the therapist to then make appropriate, positive suggestions and the results have been proven to be highly successful with clients of all backgrounds time and time again.

The Subconscious mind (accessed during hypnosis) is everything, controlling 95-99% of our daily lives. It is the database of information and experience taking up a total ten-elevenths of our overall mind.

The subconscious mind almost always wins over the conscious mind in our daily decision making, therefor seeking true contact with the subconscious as to clear out; negative beliefs, thought patterns, habits as well as trauma is essential for true and successful progression.

To simplify to its most basic form in this instance, we can view hypnotherapy as a deeply guided meditation, where we are fully allowed and permitted to relax as well as be simultaneously given positive suggestion to move forward with – this includes techniques to better deal with our anxieties.

Please feel free to explore my website here – and discover the many ways to help keep stress and anxiety at bay.

You are a Lightworker… Are you light-working?

“There are hundreds of paths up the mountain, all leading in the same direction, so it doesn’t matter which path you take. The only one wasting time is the one who runs around and around the mountain, telling everyone that his or her path is wrong.”
– Hindu Proverb

You feel your life has a big purpose… bigger than most others really believe, but you’re not sure what…

You have an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. But you’re not sure what…

You understand that things don’t have to be like this, if only we saw them differently, from a different perspective, but you’re not sure how…

Lightworkers51

There are many definitions for a lightworker, however I will use spiritual guide Doreen Virtue’s definition to assist here;

Lightworkers are those who volunteered, before birth, to help the planet and its population heal from the effects of fear. Each lightworker is here for a sacred purpose. Very often, however, life on earth with its material focus creates a form of amnesia in lightworkers. They then forget their divine and perfect identities, and also their abilities to miraculously help the earth and all living creatures. When lightworkers forget their true identity and purpose, they feel lost and afraid.

You are a lightworker if you:

1. Feel called to heal others.

2. Want to resolve the world’s social and environmental problems.

3. Believe that spiritual methods can heal any situation.

4. Have had mystical experiences, such as psychic premonitions or angelic encounters.

5. Have endured harsh life experiences that eroded the knowledge of your Divine perfection.

6. Want to heal your own life as a first step in healing the world.

7. Feel compelled to write, teach, or counsel about your healing experiences.

8. Feel a sense of time urgency to fulfill your mission before you know that you are here for a higher purpose or even if you are unsure what it is or how to fulfill it.

We are all connected and the smallest act of compassion and kindness reverberates out into all of creation and has positive effect…

In my other blog “What on EARTH is going on?”
available here: http://www.intraperspective.com/news/what-on-earth-is-going-on
or directly through the Blog section of this website,
I detail how on the 21st & 22nd of December 2012, just as the Ancient Mayans foretold, our planet Earth entered a new, completely auspicious period of time & a renewed Feminine energy took over our planet for the foreseeable future. This is to help aid us in moving away from aggressive and destructive male energy, and into the new light awaiting us all.

december

This also, in many ways, activated Light Workers in to remembering their mission whilst incarnated here on Earth.

A Lightworker is really anybody who has seen the suffering of the world on a global scale, has felt the suffering on a deeper level than most and whom has felt the need to take selfless action in aiding the reduction and eradication of this needless suffering.

There are many ways to be a Lightworker and there is no one rule that fits all – some people feel more pulled towards plant life, ecology and nature and the preservation of these areas.

Others might feel pulled towards helping animals and their needless suffering through becoming an animal healer or veterinarian and animals-activist.

Lightworkers are all part of something author Martha Beck calls “The Team”

team

You see, we’re all taught from infancy that we’re really powerless creatures and that we can never really make any difference in this world, as making that real difference is out of our hands… But this is a complete lie.
Just imagine for a moment if slowly but surely people all over the world, from different creeds and cultures all started working together for a common good, how long would it take before we saw visible change in our world?

We-are-the-ones-we-have-been-waiting-for

YOU ARE a light worker IF:
You’re willing to put a greater vision of a better planet and a greater lifestyle for all at the forefront of your daily purpose and reason for being.

You do not have to be qualified to be a light worker, as doing so comes from the heart and we all have one of those.

“WE ARE THE ONES WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!”

You know your life is worth more… much more, but really Fear is still holding you back…

“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.”
― Will Smith

Recently I was discussing the above quote with a friend, and they said how fear is useful, as it is an evolutionary reaction to danger. I agreed with my friend but also went on to detail how when I studied as a hypnotherapist last year I learnt a large amount about our conscious and subconscious mind.

The subconscious rules 95-99% of our decision making which is ten-elevenths of our overall mind!
The subconscious almost indefinitely wins over the conscious mind in our actions.
More interesting though, the subconscious doesn’t know the difference between fantasy & reality… therefor it’s safe to say that fear is largely a part of the imagination (subconscious mind) created by us based on past experiences (no longer a reality) hence the expression;

“A man who fears suffering, is already suffering from what he fears.” – Michael De Montaigne.

Fear cannot and should not ever stop us from following our hearts and doing what is right, and at this crucial – pivotal point in human history, lightworkers – (people coming together to heal one another and work for a greater vision for humanity, truly are needed more than ever.
Do you remember your calling and will you be brave for something much greater than yourself?

If this all sounds fantastic to you but you’re still unsure of your life purpose or what you could be doing, then the best thing you can do is to seek out someone who is doing what you want to do. Whether that be a healer, a reiki master, an animal activist, a counselor or psychotherapist or a spiritual guidance counsellor or life coach.

I offer spiritual guidance and counselling to help anyone struggling with their true purpose.
(I offer these services through the Guidance section of this website.)

light in

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Ayahuasca – The Vegetal Shamanic medicine

“Life has many ways of testing a person’s will, either by having nothing happen at all, or by having everything happen all at once.” – Paulo Coelho

For those interested I had a once in a lifetime weekend of fantastic and profound experiences with the use of the vegetal shamanic medicine – Ayahuasca, in the Italian Alps at the back end of last year, December 2014.

To the uninitiated, Ayahuasca, Also known as Yage’ to the natives of Brazil, is a most sacred, psycho-shamanic brew with absolutely vast medicinal capabilities.

It is ingested in to the human body in the form of a brew / beverage.
Ayahuasca originates in South America, namely with the amazonian people of Peru.

It’s taste is no less than vile, yet smooth – possibly due to the length of time it is cooked & marinated for during brewing preparations. More on this a bit later.

Ayahuasca I have come to learn, can be made in several different variants.
Traditionally it is with the shrub leaves of ‘Psychotria Viridis’, a genus of flowering plants in the “Rubiaceae family” which naturally contain Dimethyltryptamine, commonly known as DMT – “The spirit molecule” for it’s extraordinary hallucinogenic properties.

(or alternatively, in other cases ‘Justicia pectoralis’ plant which does not contain DMT.)

These leaves containing DMT are then crucially mixed with the ‘Banisteriopsis caapi vine’ commonly regarded as the “Vine of souls” by the peoples of South America.

Possibly the most curious and interesting part about this completely natural and psychedelic medicine, now making it’s transformative and healing journey across the western world, is that in order for the Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) to actually have any effect on the human body at all, Ayahuasca must be prepared by mixing these two specific components alone.

As the Vine – ‘Banisteriopsis caapi’ acts as the enzyme activator in the mix allowing the DMT within our digestive systems to produce for us, insights of great depth and colour.

The curious part, is that out of over approximately 150,000 species of plants and vines available in the amazonian forests, it is only these two specifically which activate each other to produce the brew and allowing ayahuascas immense potentiality!

The shamans responsible for such ayahuasca ceremonies say that they have gained such knowledge of the concoctions, directly from the spirits of the plants themselves in the jungles, and being divinely guided through their own consciousness. Frankly, after my experiences with Ayahuasca, I feel we are not an authority to tell them otherwise.

I must admit, I owe most of my own personal – intellectual knowledge and deep curiosity for Ayahuasca mainly to one man, Journalist and British author of “Fingerprints of the Gods” – Graham Hancock.

Over the majority of 2014, I was an avid follower of the pro-active work being done by Graham to educate the western world on psychedelics and their amazing healing and transformative capabilities for the human race. Not just psychedelics either, but medicines, sacred and shamanic, such as Ayahuasca.

This is nothing particularly new though I must say, As Graham follows a long trail of educated pioneers on these fronts, such as; Stanislav Grof, Terence Mckenna and Timothy Leary. The difference being, that now the timing is crucial in our decaying world with too much emphasis on pharmaceutical drugs with their many many detrimental side effects, and far too little emphasis on readily available natural alternatives, such as mother Ayahuasca.

The results and research has been found to be remarkable – with drug addicts of cocaine and heroin as well as alcoholics entering the Takiwasi center in Peru, leaving after 12 sessions or so of ayahuasca to never look back at their old addictions and habits.
As well as people arriving in wheelchairs for Ayahuasca sessions, only to leave with functioning limbs once again – Just like the lady in the video I have attached at the end of this report below.

ayahuasca 3

I personally attended a few of Grahams lectures in the capital London on the subjects of psychedelics and lost civilizations and can honestly say that he alone was responsible for my willingness and openness to partake in the Ayahuasca, with his ability to present such a grounded and well educated point of view on such substances.

I recommend further checking out many of Graham’s invaluable
videos on YouTube, such as the curiously banned TED talk, the “War on consciousness” as Graham puts it –

to truly receive more in depth insights into the approaches of Ayahuasca and many other psychedelics.

It was really by a great synchrony that I would be flying myself, along with my hypnotherapy tutor of the last 12 months to the Italian Alps for an Ayahuasca retreat December, 2014.

Having been speaking on the phone to her only a fortnight before the Italian retreat was due to commence and
before I really knew or fully understood it, I had placed a partial deposit for my trip and
was commencing temporary work to help cover the costs immediately, which I can say were rather affordable in comparison to other retreats, directly over in Brazil.

I had faith in the process and just knew I had to go and do this for myself.
I am not a believer of coincidences, for me everything happens for a reason and ayahuasca had called!

On arrival in Italy we were met by one of the Ayahuasca English representatives, John and escorted back to the retreats location by minibus.
The people gathered in the airport for the retreat appeared friendly, warm and unassuming characters, and it confirmed to me from all of my research thus far, that this group of individuals were not here in Italy to just “Get High” but in fact much more likely, they were here to meet reality – their realities, through the processes of expanded consciousness.

hotel

Our retreat center was around an hour an 10 minutes from the Bergamo airport, Situated right at the top of a mountain peak which appeared to be at the beginnings of the Italian alps, as no snow was present and temperatures were mild in comparison to back home in the UK, especially being up as high as we were.

Climbing up the mountain in our minibus to the retreat centre at the top was possibly the most frightful part of my weekend as some vertigo kicked in. By now it was fully dark, with some dampness on the ground and in the atmosphere and slight foggy conditions.
A single narrow road, capable of fitting just one vehicle at a time, zig-zagged us back and forth to the mountain top.

In some cases, 3 point turns were needed to get us around the impossibly narrow corners of the mountain. Needless to say I was pleased to arrive safely at the top.

Once we had arrived and were introduced to the organizers, we headed into the center where on arrival many people seemed to be wondering around aimlessly.
It quickly became apparent to us that these people were still at the retreat from the evening before and were attempting to internalize their own experiences from the ayahuasca. Also many were not from the UK and did not speak proficient English.

It’s a fair disclaimer to make by saying that Ayahuasca will show you what you need to see, not necessarily what you wish to see.
It is a reflection of your own consciousness and if you need to see something negative relating to your behavioral patterns or lifestyle, then Ayahuasca will do this for you, Just like a tough love.

All I knew personally was that the week or so leading up to the retreat, I was feeling, calm, collected and humorously optimistic – at one with myself. I somehow already knew all would be fine.

We headed into the main hall area where the ceremonies were to take place and we were all told to find and claim a single mattress for the weekend, which were lined up in rows of approximately 20, with single white bedding sheets on.
It wasn’t glamorous, but adequate and what facilities lacked, views from the mountains top just outside of our windows, made up for.

Quickly I believe we all switched into an relaxed sense of survival mode, and did what was necessary to accommodate ourselves surrounding the such laid back, peaceful vibe coming from everybody.

It was as though a big family had found each other again, in surroundings of unbelievable beauty, and just as families can be, it was as though each of us had never left in the first place. I had insight into a glimpse of hope for the human race.
My anticipations were building as the evening drew in and I just wanted to know how things would all be. Yet the more I asked people softly of their experiences, the more I quickly learned there was not a ‘one answer fits all.’
This was to be my night and my night alone.

Across the weekend we were met with characters of incredible wisdom and inner beauty, such as the leading Shaman ‘Taita Juan Jamioy’ and who I believe was one of the lead facilitators, Alberto Jose Varela, whose book “From prison, From my new found freedom” each of us left with a copy of.

These characters were floating around from time to time to approach and gain many insights from.
We had missed the lunch / dinner period for that day and instead had some light snacks like fruit and biscuits along with tea. As I knew I was guaranteed to be purging that evening, (a more than common process of the Ayahuasca rituals) this was fine by me.

The Ayahuasca ceremony started around 7 pm, with us all resting and listening from our mattresses on the floor like little children at story time.

Three facilitators spoke to us from the front in turn; The leading facilitator and sharer of great wisdom – Alberto Varela, who spoke mainly in Spanish. Hugo another very friendly and kind events organizer who spoke mainly in Italian for the natives present and a slightly younger appearing Laura, a well educated Spanish born translator, helping those of us from the UK to understand.

The first hour of ceremony was really about what not to expect from Ayahuasca!
Alberto educated us all about the facts of Ayahuasca, and we were all assured that we would be going on our own reflective, personal and intimate journeys of self-discovery, to wherever we needed to. We were advised to set intentions for the evening, and mine was for clarity and direction.
Once the initiations were done and everyone of all ethnicity understood the formations of the evening, lights were lowered and in place many tea light candles had been positioned and lit throughout the venue.

milan

We could see the vast beauty of night life across Milan from the easily accessable windows.
We were each handed our necessities – A plastic bag to purge the ayahuasca in to and tissues to accommodate the purging.

One of the facilitators came around to each of us and placed some Ayahuasca drops into our palms for rubbing in and smearing across our nasal area and/or back of neck. This was followed after the essential oil water in small tea cups we were given in order to help aid in the drinking of the Ayahuasca as well as general well being.
Drinking this water alone, put me in a space of reflection and wonder.

All the while it became apparent to me, the sacredness of Ayahuasca ceremonies. Even in a place unnatural to Ayahuasca, such as Italy. It wasn’t something we were to drink quickly and get ‘high’ from, but a journey, a process, an initiation of consciousness and all the while I remained very calm and reflective, absorbing all there was to take in.

We were then asked to queue around the mattresses in order to each receive Tobacco from the shaman Taita Juan. We received it by having it blown quite rapidly, directly into each nostril, one after the other.
For me this was one of the most difficult parts of the ceremony, It stung and smelt unwelcoming, unlike the sometimes sweet smell of a rolling tobacco and I couldn’t help but swallow some. This made us all instantly sneeze and eyes watered.

Nevertheless we were told it was necessary to help aid with the ayahuasca.
As I understand, Tobacco in some cultures is seen as representing the spirit.

We then returned to our mattresses to meditate on the experience thus far, set our intentions and wait a little further for the ayahuasca to be laid out for each of us.
I couldn’t help but peep a little through a tiny crack in my left eye to watch shaman, Taita from a small distance, ritualistically blessing and initiating the ayahuasca being placed out in small plastic cups for us. Smoke and sage were blown over them as to ward away any negative spirits or energy and Taita sung rituals, all the while wafting dried leaves over the table where the ayahuasca rested. It was truly, both sacred and magical to witness.

Once this was achieved, a silence was laid to rest around the main hall where we were. We were then called up to queue for the Ayahuasca initial dosage.

I remember feeling ready, but as though I was going into a battle prepared – unknowing of the opposition.
I was sure from the gut feelings I had had all week leading up to the retreat that somehow things would all be fine, but that did not stop the atmosphere from penetrating these feelings a little.

I knew this would go exactly how it must and I was Okay with that.
Quietness surrounded the room of the many people lining up to receive the first intake of the Ayahuasca dose. The ceremony had most definitely begun!

As I reached the table where the shaman stood handing out the Ayahuasca, I looked at the cup handed to me with the ayahuasca in, Similar to a small opague plastic party or even medicine cup, it was just shy of half full.

I thanked shaman Taita, stepped aside and drunk it down in a poor first attempt. Part of me wanted to taste the ayahuasca and it wasn’t pleasing to say the least.

Ayahuasca tastes like nothing I have ever experienced before. To describe it I will go off my initial reactions, which, if you were to imagine drinking a cup of electrical copper wires still with energy running through them…It had a real twang to it, Not that I felt anything particularly about the mixture, just a rather vile, unusual cold metallic taste to it, a dark dark taste, thick but smooth in texture – It meant business.

We all went straight back to our mattresses to get comfortable in meditative positions where we were advised to assume upright postures with eyes closed, much like meditation, in order to go inwards in ourselves.

Nothing seemed to happen at all for the first 10 – 15 minutes, 20 – 25 minutes even. After about 25-30 minutes the lady two mattresses down from me had her first violent purge, sicking her ayahuasca up into her given bag. I didn’t allow this to affect or phase me in any way as I had prepared mentally, instead it helped me focus more. I did not feel sick yet, not remotely, I could just feel the weight of the Ayahuasca in my stomach, and I knew that at some point this evening, that would be me also.
45 minutes or so passed with nothing really happening for me.

At this point at least 3 of the group had begun to purge, some sounding slightly demonic as they purged up their ayahuasca portion – (often the point of purging up Ayahuasca is to release blockages and any negative energies.)
An hour passed and still nothing of significance for me. I started to give myself the impression that somehow I had been tricked and that this wasn’t really Ayahuasca that I knew so much about intellectually, yet nothing of experientally – I was wrong.

Approximately an hour and 15 minutes passed and by this time I was laying down with my head propped up by one of my bags. Certain people had fallen asleep at this point and were snoring. (An utter waste of an experience I thought)
Purging assumed across the hall from many individuals. The shaman in the background played all kinds of native instruments, provoking natural yet eery sounds and providing sacred imagery into ones mind. I understood by this point how this music could be so important in helping to facilitate a full trance, Indeed from the weekend, I believe it was the main component of the experiences.

It was around this time that I reached out to tell a nearby facilitator how I wasn’t particularly feeling any different. He assured me that the second ‘booster’ dose was not long away.
Soon after my comments, and as if the Ayahuasca was out to prove me wrong, I felt a rush from the depth of my stomach, bringing up the ayahuasca. I purged most of what I had taken quite violently and felt immediately relieved.

The interesting thing about Ayahuasca in my experience, is that you only really experience it once you have begun purging it out. As if it activates it in some way. At least I did!
I laid back down and closed my eyes. The Ayahuasca begun to show me a different reality. Darkness surrounded me followed by spirals and then what appeared to be zig-zag lines across my vision, but tunnel like, escorting me out and away. I was travelling forwards in to my visions and being taken further outwards.

zig

What I understood about ayahuasca from the weekend is that it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone but yourself. I could tell you all about the amazing astrological, geometrical and metaphysical imagery I experienced during the Ayahuasca sessions, but what would be the real point of that?

It would be like telling you about a fantastic movie that you need to see, and then never getting round to actually seeing it…

What I also learned, is that Ayahuasca gives the individual as personal an experience as the dosage itself. And this indeed transcends time and space.
You are in fact, taken to the depths of your own reality, the darkness and right back up and through to the lightest of light and holiness.

Ayahuasca is most definitely a spiritual experience of great depths and grandeur, and I met with an entity similar to that of Christ or the godhead, through massive cathedral type structures. It was beautiful, serene and truly inviting.

heavenly-cathedral-john-bartosik

What stuck out the most from the experience of the weekend, was how you can be surrounded by a seemingly apparent hell – individuals having their very own deep and dark experiences, crying out, purging and breathing heavy, Yet be at absolute peace with your surroundings. I believe this to be my biggest lesson from the Ayahuasca retreat.
That no matter what goes on around us externally, there is always, under any circumstance, the capacity for inner peace and self-love. In fact, it’s the only truth of the matter.

The highlight of the evening came from the same lady just two mattresses away from me. This particular woman had purged the most out of anyone I had noticed, or indeed been drawn to notice.
She purged from around 30 minutes in, violently and intermittently, through until the option for a second booster dosage of ayahuasca, around 1 hour and 45 minutes in to the ceremony.

After the majority of her purging she settled down to assume a resting position. Not to be fooled by this, the sounds and noises she then produced were non-stop.
She begun by laughing uncontrollably – the kind of laughter one might produce when they are in fact high on some chemical substance, only with the emotional signatures of freedom and triumph!

It was as though the woman had received laughing gas as well as Ayahuasca, she laughed for her life, The purging had completely cleansed her spirit!

She laughed so much that I found myself soon joining in, followed by my tutor nearby, followed by practically everyone in the room simultaneously.

It was so very infectious, and necessary at this point of the evening I believe. It helped shed some of the darkness surrounding the ceremony, some of the unknowing into the abyss of ones psyche. We were all still quite aware of our surroundings, Just on another level.

After the second booster, which tasted equally as bad as the first, I resumed position on my mattress. I was met by visions of extraordinary complexity and I cannot explain them with any sense of justice or capacity in my sober, ‘mind’ state.
It was “Other-worldly” I was in the cosmos somewhere on vacation, swimming in Source.

I did most definitely learn personal lessons from the ayahuasca that weekend, lessons I won’t be disclosing here, but I do hope it sparks any readers imagination to participate in a ceremony once they feel ready.

Ayahuasca is not a recreational medicine/drug, nor should it ever be treated as such. It is not something to be done at weekends with friends, It is a most sacred and ceremonial medicine and it deserves the utmost respect and reverence.

If it were not for the presence of an experienced shaman, I would not have been there myself either.

Another interesting thing with Ayahuasca, is that it is typically taken late in the evening. So it can last most of the duration of the night and into the early hours of the morning. Really it keeps going, much like a journey, but you are free to sleep when required, it is up to your discretion.

The next day on awakening you feel good, Cleansed and light, clearer. There is a slight sense of a hangover but not like that of an alcohol induced hangover. It is just a slight feeling of physical drainage, and that’s it. You have an appetite and are quite happy to discuss your experiences together.

As a hypnotherapist and studying psychotherapist, I am intrigued by the human psyche and it’s capacity for great and needless suffering when encased in by itself from a sense of greater consciousness and awareness.

I can now easily vouch for what author Graham Hancock comments when describing Ayahuasca – “Like 20 years of psychotherapy, in one session.”

Through Ayahuasca you meet yourself. In all your splendor as well as your own personal hell, demons and even death scenarios in some cases.

This is to teach you about yourself, in the most intimate of ways.

Ask yourself; Is life easy? Of course not! But is it worth it, necessary? Of course it is!
– Ayahuasca is much the same.

I write about my experiences with ayahuasca here for you to read in the hope that the western world as a whole, suffering from a great lack of consciousness and compassion, liberation and true inner healing, will educate itself on the absolutely undeniable healing capabilities of Mother Ayahuasca.
Capabilities beyond that of any human intervention.

We live in times of monumental and rapid change and for many it is a time of great suffering. But in the greatest of darkness always comes the greatest of light, and that is what I believe ayahuasca is doing now for the people of the west and the world.

It is stepping out of the jungle and healing us back to nature, aiding in our next evolutionary steps, of compassion and oneness.

The Shamans of the amazon reflect on the issues of our western society, with materialism, consumerism greed and suffering, and they summarize by simply saying that we have ‘Severed our connection with spirit.’ – after my weekend in the Alps, I couldn’t agree more.

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” ― Haruki Murakami

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

“The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it’s real because that’s how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it’s very brightly colored, and it’s very loud, and it’s fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, “Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?” And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, “Hey, don’t worry; don’t be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.” – Bill Hicks

We are born into this world alone and similarly we exit this world alone, and in between this life is primarily about overcoming fears and returning to our natural state of love & oneness.

Through the discovery of the unified field or so called ‘super-string field’ quantum physicists such as Dr John Hagelin have found that all life is fundamentally One – at the basis of all life’s diversity, there is unity. At our basis we are all one – also known as Universal Consciousness.

As Einstein put it, we are each a “part of the whole, called by us universe

Mainstream western science recognises this as the “Big Bang Theory” which created the beginning of everything, where everything in existence stems from. A minute particle which exploded at a phenomenal rate in all directions to produce the “Physical” universe as it appears to us today.

We are all sparks of a divine creation, source or what many like to call ‘God’ (though this term alone has been severely misused and is long overdue a definitive explanation.) Through many many life cycles (reincarnation) we attempt to return to our source of divine inspiration through increasing good deeds and compassion to all life everywhere, also known as Enlightenment.

We are quite simply as Paulo Coelho puts it; “Star dust, Swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal”

imagination

So as quantum physics recognizes it we are simply energy bodies – essentially vibrating at a frequency differing to that of our environment to give us the appearance and illusion of solidarity.

But What does someone mean by “there is no such thing as death” ?

In the West we have a rather warped, incorrect and unnecessarily fearful view of death, whereby in some instances we either go to heaven or hell or where we are judged eternally by one or many deities.
Instead, death should be seen as what it truly is, a transition – a moving from one vehicle to another. Through death we simply make our transition back to the spirit realm where we came from (and which is infinitely more familiar and welcoming than this current reality) to evaluate our lifes experiences and lessons accordingly with other light beings, known to us as angels or similarly spirit guides, who have been assisting us all the while throughout this lifetime. There is really nothing to fear except fear itself

This can be seen and read about in two of the most prominent books available on the subject of life after death; ‘The Egyptian book of the dead’ and the ‘Tibetan book of the dead
The former deals primarily with the process of life after death whilst the latter is respectively shaped around the preparation for it.

In his ground-breaking book ‘Journey of Souls‘, Dr Michael Newton details a case study of twenty-nine people from various cultures of class and belief systems (purposefully for the experimentation) detailing the amazing stories each individual has under deep states of hypnosis during past life regression (PLR.)
It is fascinating to learn how all of the twenty-nine individuals each have profound and detailed stories of past lives, which they recall vividly from their respective sessions – regardless of their culture or creed.

Similarly psychotherapist and regression hypnotherapist Brian Weiss accidentally stumbled across past lives of several clients during therapy whom reportedly told of past lives from thousands of years ago. In some cases speaking languages that they did not know in this lifetime as well as knowledge currently inaccessible to them.

Another fine example of the concepts of reincarnation and soul cycles could also easily be drawn from quantum hypnosis practitioner Dolores Cannon whom passed away not so long ago making her transition.

Dolores has a back catalogue of fascinating books all based around past life regression and regression hypnosis detailing many extraordinary accounts from individuals reported to have ‘Walked with Jesus’ as well as those who are experiencing their first ever lives incarnated on Earth, coming from other planets in the stars, known as Star Seeds as well as directly from the source (God.)
These individuals have been sent to Earth at this time as volunteers, to help raise the Earths vibration, assisting those stuck in the current matrix / paradigm to release from the old ways and transition into a new, promising world of prosperity.

believe

The world as we see it today is changing and rather rapidly. Many spiritual teachers all write and speak about the fact that we’re moving up in consciousness (awareness) from a baseline of ‘3rd dimensional reality’ into a fourth and fifth dimension (or density) reality.

The world as we experience it today is divided in half by those still living in old, non-serving ways of going about life, as well as those now embracing new possibilities, sustainable ways of living, new technologies and new-age positive, spiritual beliefs for life.

As British Author Graham Hancock puts it rather well; “we are a species with amnesia” and have forgotten our roots, origins and our source. Essentially that of light and love, unity as well as higher levels of consciousness and ways of living and understanding. ‘It’s time to evolve folks!’

Through a tsunami wave effect of shared new information and knowledge, the very fabric of our current society is being reshaped and redesigned – the old and obsolete is slowly but surely falling away to embrace the new, endless possibilities for us all.

Only a select few want us to remain at our current dense vibration, as by doing so it benefits them whilst the rest of us are trapped in a type of matrix, oblivious to the infinite all around us.

We have all been alive many, many times before. Earth however, is the ultimate “school” for learning and living out our karmic lessons, as it really feels and appears separate here. It is dense, very dense compared to some of the realms we have each lived on. Our manifestation takes time, hard work, effort and repeated intentions. But rest assured, it is all simply an “Optical delusion of our consciousness” as Albert Einstein once put it.

We have the power to change our lives with great effect by focusing intent on manifesting that which we truly desire and by leading from the heart (our most sacred memory centre) and not the mind.

In the words of Dr. Amit GoswamiContrary to what they tell you… you are not a limited material being.”

We are all sparks of the divine and we are now waking up to this fact by remembering our truth. Namaste’
