Mark Twain quote

Hypnotherapy to Stop Smoking

Would you like to stop smoking… for good? Well hypnotherapy is a clinical technique shown to help individuals to do just that – time and time again!

Let’s be honest – Smoking may feel good to us in the first instance, but in terms of our survival-stakes and life expectancy it is way up there with things which are undeniably life-threatening.

  • There are around 4000 different chemicals in the ignited smoke of a cigarette; Nicotine, Carbon Monoxide, Tar, Hydrogen Cyanide, Ammonia & Nitrogen Dioxide are just some of them..
  • Smoking is the biggest cause of death and illness in the UK. More than 120,000 people die each year from diseases caused by smoking and it is a major contributor to many serious diseases, such as heart disease and lung cancer.

It’s the same scenario over and over again, we get a bit stressed or anxious and our conditioned response is to reach for a cigarette to give us immediate results.

Stored away in our subconscious are the effects of that initial pull on a cigarette and the anxiety ease it appears to give us immediately.Psychology

However, deep down we know this is a lie and the danger stakes of smoking for ourselves and those around us are very high.

Having previously been a smoker for over 10 years myself I am pleased to report that I fall into the category of only 3% of the population to stop smoking using their will power alone!

This is my analysis:– “Get your mind set and the body will follow!”

I know and understand first-hand how hard it can be to stop smoking for good and there are some crucial factors to bare in mind when attempting to stop smoking for good.

I also respect that smoking is a highly addictive habit and should be avoided altogether in the first place – this is where hypnotherapy can help aid you to re-evaluate your beliefs about the smoking habit.

How Hypnotherapy can assist:

Hypnotherapy aims to alter our state of awareness in a way that relaxes the conscious part of the mind while simultaneously stimulating and focusing the subconscious part – where it is possible to re-evaluate our detrimental habits we have and replace them with positive and affirming suggestions for real – true progression.

Often an emotional attachment to the cigarette has been made somewhere along our path and this needs to be addressed before a person can effectively progress further.

Motivation for ceasing to smoke is essential, and it is said that any determination lower than an 8 out of 10 realistically needs to be re-evaluated.

Stop-Smoking hypnotherapy sessions come in the form of a one-off session of hypnotherapy lasting around 1.5 hours (more in some cases)
